Storage Containers:
New vs. Used - What's the difference?
New Containers
Our "one-trip" storage containers, often referred to as new, are the closest thing you can get to a brand-new container. It’s not possible to get a container that hasn’t been used for shipping at least once. These containers have made a single journey from the manufacturing facility in China to Ireland, carrying goods on their initial trip. Because they’ve only made this one trip, they are fully dry on the inside and offer the near-new quality and durability of a brand-new container making them an excellent choice for a secure and versatile storage solution.
Ex Shipping Containers
While ex shipping containers may seem like a cost-effective option, the reality is that they aren't significantly cheaper than new, one-trip containers, yet they fall short in terms of quality and reliability. After spending up to 10 years at sea, these used containers have endured harsh conditions, leading to wear and tear that affects their overall integrity. Unlike our one-trip containers, which are fully dry and in near-new condition, second-hand containers often show significant signs of aging, including rust, dents, and potential leaks. Investing slightly more in a one-trip container ensures you get a product that offers superior durability, security, and longevity—qualities that used containers simply can't match
